Case study
TWE — Travel World & Explore
A travel discovery guide featuring curated European city profiles — from Bergen to Vienna — alongside in-depth destination articles and itineraries.
Problem
Planning a European trip usually means juggling guidebooks, map apps, booking sites, and random blogs. City research feels fragmented — hard to compare destinations or move from “inspiration” to a concrete itinerary in one place.
Approach
Built Travel World & Explore as a Next.js + TypeScript discovery guide: a featured-cities grid (local names, flags, coats of arms, photo-led cards), country/city routes for deeper profiles, and MDX-backed articles and itineraries (e.g. Lisbon in 3 days, Prague top 10). Mapbox adds geographic context so browsing stays visual and place-based rather than a flat list of posts.
Outcome
Live at travelworldandexplore.com with a growing catalogue of European city profiles — from Bergen and Reykjavík to Istanbul and Vienna — plus destination articles that turn curiosity into trip-shaped reading. A personal product for content-driven Next.js architecture and travel UX.
- City-first IA: Featured Cities → country/city profiles → itinerary articles, instead of a generic blog homepage
- Rich city cards (imagery, local names, flags, heraldry) to make comparison scannable before you click in
- MDX + Mapbox so editorial destination content and geographic context stay in one discovery loop
